History & Amenities

When The Islands was being developed, there were no local businesses in the area. The nearest grocery store was several miles away; the community was surrounded by dirt and fields. The developer decided to develop a Community Association to build a sense of community, so the residents would have access to shopping, eating, schools and other necessities. Community Associations have commercial property owners and residential property owners which are all called members of the Association. Per The Islands CC&Rs each member pays an assessment: for residential per unit (home), the apartments it’s per unit with the owner of the property paying and for commercial it’s based on square footage of the land.  The Islands Community Association is a non-profit 501 (c)(4).
